WATSON, Julie Ann
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 in Kalamazoo. Julie was born June 9, 1933 in Streator, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Sopka Plichta and had been a resident of Kalamazoo for many years. She had worked in several places as a secretary and assistant, including the Kalamazoo State Hospital, D.H.S of Michigan and Arizona State University. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Watson; her brother, James Plichta; and a life long friend, Bob Sayer. Julie is survived by her children, Joel Teresa Watson of Kalamazoo, Jeffrey Watson of Kalamazoo and Amy Watson of Bangor, MI; her grandchildren, Josh Teresa, Mike and Justin Brittney Watson, Megan Wigger and Ashley Cole; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Rudy Vrchota and Mary Houdek; many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 930 Lake St., at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Msgr. Michael Hazard, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 350 E. Michigan, Ste. 20, Kalamazoo, MI 49007, or the charity of one's choice.
