Judith Ann Wessels

WESSELS, Judith Ann Pine Lake Delton Passed away August 25, 2 007 at Borgess Hospital. Judy was born June 4, 1940 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Raymond and Eleanor Steketee Young and was a lifelong resident of Portage. She graduated from Portage Central High School and was employed for several years as a waitress at Stafford?s Restaurant in Portage and retired from the Country Cafe. Her joy in life was her grandchildren. On May 14, 1960, she was married to Leonard Wessels, who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Greg Wessels of Muncie, IN, Randy and Ann Wessels of Portage, Lauri Wessels Hartzell Marty of Portage and Jeff Wessels of Plainwell; 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jerry Imel and Jennifer Wessels, all of Muncie, Brad Wessels of Lafayette, IN and Alyssa Wessels of Muncie, Michael Wessels of Portage, Justin Hartzell of Portage, Amanda Wessels and Dylan Wessels, both of Plainwell; a sister Jackie Young of Arizona; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 o?clock Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with the Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Friends may meet the family on Thursday at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Judy?s memory be made to the American Diabetes Association.
