Portage, Michigan Passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the age of 67. Judith was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on January 4, 1947, the daughter of the late Edward and Donna Hill Lasowski. She retired from Kalamazoo Public Schools, where she worked as a teacher and day care administrator. She was a member of the KARSP Kalamazoo Association of Retired School Personel. She was the most positive and upbeat person, who had passion and excitement for life. She had a way of making everyone's life experiences seem special no matter how simple they were. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who loved to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed traveling, photography and camping. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert F. Kucera; two sons, Shawn Erin Kucera of Portage, MI and Todd Trisha Kucera of Portage, IN; six grandchildren, Andrew, Julie, Sydney, Peyton, Nolan and Brody; three sisters and one brother, Diane Kirk Fox Schwinnen, Sue Gibson, Jim Denise Lasowski and Carol Michael Barnhart; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49002, friends may visit with the family 10 a.m. until time of service. Rev. James Dyke will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center.
