KOSMERICK, Judith Jill Buckman
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Jill passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2013 at Borgess-Pipp Hospital in Plainwell. She was born on September 24, 1942 in Kalamazoo, the only daughter of seven children to Forrest and Clara Wellenkamp Buckman. Jill enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and reading in her free time. Surviving are her two children, Christine Roberto Rocha of Kalamazoo and Doug April Gernaat of Starkville, MS; three grandchildren, Melania and Jacob Rocha and Cole Gernaat; mother, Clara Buckman of Kalamazoo; six brothers, Frederick Marion Buckman of Portland, OR, Alan Lauri Buckman of Portage, Joseph Paula Buckman of LaGrange, IL, Robert Leslie Buckman of Kalamazoo, Paul Peggy Buckman of Tonka Bay, MN and Jeff Michelle Buckman of Holland; former husband, Kenneth Gernaat; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Angela Gernaat; granddaughter, Elizabeth Rocha; father, Forrest Buckman and husband, Theodore Kosmerick. A funeral service for Jill will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday Today, April 18, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Life Care Center of Plainwell.
