of Portage Passed away April 24, 2011. Juanita was born August 4, 1926 in Borderland, WV, a daughter of John and Sadie Jude Stroughter and had lived in the Portage area since 1973. She had worked for the WL Molding Company for 6 years, retiring in 1980, and loved traveling and playing penny slots. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Harris on March 6, 1972; her parents; sisters, Gladys Thomas, Eleanor Palmer, and Virginia Hymore; and a brother, John Stroughter, Jr. Surviving are her children, Norma Harris of Portage, Sarah Rooney of Kalamazoo, and Travis Horton of Kalamazoo; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister, Hattie Tarquinto of Ohio; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Rev. John Vick officiating. Interment will follow in South Portage Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
