Joyce D. VanLandegent

VAN LANDEGENT, Mrs. Joyce D. Kalamazoo, MI Went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday afternoon February 2, 2007 after a difficult 10 year battle with progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Joyce was born May 21, 1946 in Kalamazoo, Michigan the daughter of Harold and Jennie Huis Schiedel. She was a graduate of Portage Central in 1964 and remained in the Kalamazoo area her entire life. She was also a member of Hope Reformed Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and was active in various church activities. Joyce dedicated her life to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents. On October 17, 1969, she was united in marriage to Donald A. VanLandegent Sr. who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Dawn Shannon Brown of Portage, Dianne VanLandegent of Kalamazoo, and Donald Emily VanLandegent of Richland; 4 grandchildren, Elijah and Bethany Brown and Johanna and Kyle VanLandegent; 5 brothers, Marvin Patty Schiedel of Martin, Robert Jennie Schiedel of Cooper, Donald Nancy Schiedel of Portage, Harold Shirley Schiedel of Bonita Springs, FL, and Kenneth Mary Anne Scheidel of Kalamazoo; an aunt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o?clock Tuesday at Hope Reformed Church, 910 Jenks Blvd. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hope Reformed Church or the National Multiple Sclerosis SocietyH.
