Lawton Loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008 at her home. She was born March 2, 1934 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Kenneth and Mina Sylva Austin and had lived in the Lawton area for several years. Joyce graduated from Comstock High School in 1951, where she was a Cheer Leader and when she moved to Lawton, was very active as a team mother and in the Lawton Boosters. As a Navy wife of 24 years, she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Fleet Reserve Association. On March 8, 1952, she married Fred Ruble, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Sylva Robert Lucas of Gans, PA, and Fred Ruble, Jr. of Lawton; her mother, Mina Austin Gilger of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, James, Kenneth, Alicia and Anna; great grandchildren, Terrance, Tristen and one who will be born in October. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S 9th St. with Chaplain Barbara Van Eck officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Borgess VNA Hospice.
