Joyce A. Pearson

PEARSON, Joyce A.
of Portage Passed away September 27, 2011 at home. She was born October 15, 1930 in Kalamazoo to the late Clinton S. and Geneva E. Scott Smith. She was united in marriage to Delbert J. H. Pearson on May 17, 1958. Delbert preceded her in death on November 6, 2002. Joyce worked as a dental receptionist/secretary for 27 years where 26 of them were with Dr. John Sinclair. The last four years she worked at Harding's Woodbridge. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, camping, traveling, movies and time with her family and friends. Surviving Joyce are her children, Brenda J. Papesh, Joan C. Erwin Maier Herson both of Portage and Timothy M. Christine Gigowski Matecki of Sparta, MI; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Beverly J. Lockwood; and several nieces and nephews; as well as many life long friends. Also preceding Joyce in death was her brother, Richard C. Smith. Family will greet friends on Sunday, October 2nd from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. where services will take place Monday, October 3rd at 11:00. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
