Joyce Garnaat

Passed away Thursday morning, May 2, 2013 at her residence. Joyce was born August 2, 1956 in Russellville, Alabama, the daughter of Jessie and Christine Hand Colburn. She was employed for 25 years with Fed Ex Ground as Senior Office Administrator. She enjoyed bowling, sports, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her boys and grandchildren. Her compassion for others brought joy and happiness to all the lives she touched. Her loving and caring personality shined through in an extraordinary manner. On December 6, 1986 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, David Roy Garnaat, who survives. Also surviving are her boys, David Jane Larson, Michael Roy Garnaat; 2 grandchildren, Mikayla and Nathan Larson; her mother, Christine Bradley; brothers and sister, Billy Janet Colburn, Andy Bradley, Teresa Jones, Timmy Maria Colburn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Colburn; and special grandmother, Gracie Larson. There will be no visitation. A gathering to honor Joyce's life will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday at Portage South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to an organization of your choice.
