Kalamazoo, Michigan Joyce died Thursday evening, April 3, 2008, at the Upjohn Community Care Center in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born June 19, 1925, in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of Hazen and Lydia Berry and had been a life long area resident. Joyce was a member of Fourth Reformed Church and was retired from the Upjohn Company. She was an extremely gifted athlete and enjoyed playing tennis, softball and volleyball and enjoyed watching baseball on TV. On April 33, 1948, Joyce was united in marriage with Mr. Richard Dombos and part of their honeymoon included attending opening day at Tiger's Stadium. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband on June 26, 1973. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a half-brother, Carl Berry and a half-sister, Aileen Berry. Surviving are: two children, Kathleen Schlukebir of Kalamazoo and Dan Mary Dombos of Kalamazoo; a step-son, Richard Dombos of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Neil Gloria Berry of Kalamazoo and Gordon Mary Lou Berry of Portage; a sister, Marilyn Donald Brown of Hickory Corners; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Services will be held 1:00 Monday afternoon at Fourth Reformed Church, 6339 Atlantic, with her pastor, the Rev. James Vander Roest, officiating. Interment services will be held 3:30 Monday afternoon in the mausoleum chapel of Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, 3941 S.
