Kalamazoo Passed away March 31, 2013 at the age of 70. Joyce was born April 14, 1942 in Newberry, MI a daughter of Henry M. and Mary A. Koresh Stevens and was a resident of the Kalamazoo area for many years. Joyce was a member of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church and was a co-owner and secretary of Kalamazoo Tool Company, with her husband, Lloyd. She was also employed by Any Risk Insurance for several years. On June 28, 1958, she married Lloyd Junior Bird, who preceded her in death on May 8, 2009. Joyce is survived by her children, Burton Tammy Bird of Portage, Lloyd Junior II Lori Bird of Kalamazoo and Theresa Michael Campbell of Dowling; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Carl "Fletch" Hizer of Kalamazoo; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roger and Carl Stevens. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Kenneth Schmidt, officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3826 S. 9th St. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial donations may be given to the Legion Villa, 107 Evergreen. Battle Creek, MI 49015, an Adult Foster Care Facility for veterans.
