Joy D. Olson

OLSON, Joy D. Portage Passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007. She was born April 23, 1924 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Lawrence and Emily Burnham and had lived in the Portage area for several years. Joy was employed by the Van Buren County Health Department for many years as a dental assistant. On October 31, she married Howard Olson and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1989. She was also preceded by her parents and a son, Doug Olson. Joy is survived by her children, Denise Randy Waite of Portage, Clark Olson of Portage, Marcia Jeff Dubbeld of Climax and Karen Gary Root of Bloomingdale; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has take place and a memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
