Josie Mae 'Dottie' Roseboom

ROSEBOOM, Josie Mae Josie Mae "Dottie" Roseboom; age 86; passed away December 16, 2012 at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo, MI. Dottie was born March 8, 1926 in Portland, IN, the daughter of Carel and Eva Denny Barnes. On March 5, 1947, she was united in marriage to William Peter Roseboom, Sr. They resided in Kalamazoo until 1958, relocated to Lawton until 1972, then to San Juan Capistrano, CA until 2001 when they became residents of Portage, MI. She was employed for several years with Lawton Bank and for over 20 years with Rancho Mission Viejo, CA. Dottie enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, reading and most of all spending time with her family especially her great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her husband William; their three children, Jeffrey (Mary) Roseboom of Paw Paw, Susan Roseboom of Oshtemo and Billy (Pam) Roseboom of San Clemente, CA; grandchildren, Jeremy (Stephanie) Roseboom, Dr. Bridget (Scott) Pine, Denise (Tyler) Purdy, Tina (Greg) Kapus, Ashley and Natasha Roseboom and Elizabeth Neely; great-grandchildren, Emma, Paige, Layla, Ethan, Eli, Josie, Zoe, Haley, Ryker and Maddox; siblings, Robert (Mary) Barnes, Clyde (Linda) Barnes, Carolyn McQueer; many nieces and nephews. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, William Carel Barnes, Joan Selders, Donald Barnes, Larry Barnes, Jerry Barnes, Jack Barnes, Tom Barnes, and Mary Bogema. In accordance with Dottie's wishes cremation has taken place and a burial will be held at a later date in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials in Dottie's memory may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice.
