Of Climax Josh passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 9, 2008 in Climax from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born September 5, 1988 in Kalamazoo. A 2006 graduate of Climax-Scotts High School, Josh enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, golf, and writing and recording music. Josh also loved the outdoors: fishing, hunting, and spending time at his family's cabin. Most of all, Josh loved spending time with his family, especially his nephew, Tyler. Surviving are his parents, Paul Lindy Bishop of Pennfield, Brenda Jim Escamilla Longman of Kalamazoo; 5 sisters and brothers, Jamie Bishop, Miranda Bishop, Courtney Reid, Meredith Escamilla, and Evan Escamilla; 1 nephew, Tyler Smith; grandparents, James and Charlene Longman of Climax, and Neva Bishop of Hastings; great-grandmother, Fran Bishop of Florida; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding him in death is 1 grandfather, Rudy Bishop, and Jeffrey Wayne Smith. Funeral services for Josh will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at Climax United Methodist Church, 133 E. Maple Street, with Rev. David F. Hills officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Home Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek Street. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to his nephew, Tyler Wayne Smith, for his educational expenses, checks payable to: Irrevocable Trust Agreement FBO Tyler W.
