SNYDER, Josephine L.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010. Josephine was born December 18, 1915 in Kokomo, IN the daughter of Charles and Diamond Bennett Cook. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, canning and freezing the vegetables from her garden, and winters in Florida. Josephine also enjoyed spending time with her family and get togethers with her friends. On August 16, 1933 she was united in marriage to her husband Joseph, who preceded her in death on July 16, 1989. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Charles; step-mother, Madaline Cook; and a brother Charles Cook, Jr. Surviving are 2 children, Robert Dar Snyder, Elayne Keith Nesbitt; 3 grandchildren, Scott Valerie Snyder, Steve Missie Snyder, Sandra Phillip Richter; 2 great-grandchildren, Ali and Bailey Snyder; 3 sisters, Virginia Marquis, Betty Lynn Sohm, Joan Shick; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Rose Arbor Hospice of Kalamazoo for the compassionate and loving care Mom received. Services will be held 11:00 o'clock Friday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E Centre with Fr. Arthur Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 4-8pm at the Portage Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Rose Arbor Hospice. www.langelands.com
