Joseph Chabot

Age 72, died unexpectedly August 4, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on May 30, 1943 in Coloma, MI, the son of Edward and Bessie (Needham) Chabot. Joe was a one of a kind innovator and visionary. He owned and operated several local movie theatres with his life partner, Carol Moore. Joe was a current board member of the National Association of Concessionaires and past board member of the National Association of Theater Owners of Michigan. He adored his grandchildren. Joe is survived by his sons, Robert Chabot of Knoxville, TN, and Benjamin (Christine) Chabot of Highland Park, IL, Carol Moore of Kalamazoo and her children, D. Scott (Laurie) Moore of Mattawan, David (Daria) Moore of Mattawan; and 6 grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Terri (Gary) Chabot; nephew, Dallas Slatton; and niece, Jeannie King. Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Slatton. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9th, from 2:00-5:00 pm, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Association of Concessionaires Scholarship Fund.
