STORA, John T.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away March 27, 2008 after a brief illness. John was born March 27, 1930 in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of John J. Stora and Marion Niedzwiecki Hall and had lived in the Kalamazoo area since 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed for 37 years for the Michigan Liquor Control Commission where he served for several years as Deputy Director of Licensing and Enforcement. John received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Aquinas College. He was a member of the Wayland V.F.W. Post and a founding member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. John was preceded in death by his first wife Dolores Stora and his parents. On November 1, 2003, he married Betty Wyant, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Mary Anne Stora-Jansen and husband Dale of Kalamazoo and Catherine Stora Ostrowski of Grand Rapids; 4 step-children, Michael Wyant, Todd Wyant, Kelly Wyant and Christopher Heather Wyant, all of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Angela Mick Enders of Kalamazoo and Abigail, Alexander and Audry Ostrowski, all of Grand Rapids; 2 step-grandchildren, Morgan Wyant and Jordan Verburg, both of Kalamazoo; a great-granddaughter, Ava Enders; a sister Sandra Alfonso Romero and a brother Dennis Judy Hall, all of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 West Centre Ave. with the Rev. Fr. Kevin Covert, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-7 pm and on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm with a Rosary to be recited by Rev. Fr. Bob Flickinger at 7:30 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
