NELSON, John W., Jr.
Of Kalamazoo Jack passed away Sunday evening, May 30, 2010 at his home. He was born September 27, 1935 in Kalamazoo, the son of John Sr. and Betty Irish Nelson. Surviving are his loving companion of 15 years, Debbie Brown of Kalamazoo; two daughters, Kathy Brown of Parchment and Kristen Brown of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren; one brother, Michael A. Nelson of Portage; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nelson of Decatur; and two nephews, Jeff Nancy Nelson and Jim Rose Nelson. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Jerry Nelson in 1966; and two grandchildren. Graveside services for Jack will be at 3:00 PM on Friday at Mountain Home Cemetery, 1402 W. Main St, with Pastor Mark Hofstra of First Reformed Church of Decatur officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center.
