METHNER, John Robert
of Kalamazoo John was born May 5, 1946, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Carl and Catherine Collins Methner, Sr. and passed away June 23, 2011, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. During the Vietnam War he had served in the U.S. Army and for many years he was employed as a Building Inspector for different counties in Michigan. John was a member of AA and of the DAV. He was preceded in death by his mother. Surviving are two children, Amanda Methner of Three Rivers and Christopher Methner of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Caitryn, Landen and Cole; his father, Carl Methner, Sr.; three siblings, Marian Methner, Carl Barbara Methner, Jr. and Carol Howard Steiner; his former wife, Julie Methner; nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service with full military honors will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials in John's memory may be directed to Battle Creek VA Hospital.
