Age 93 John passed away Sunday evening, February 24, 2013 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born November 11, 1919 in Pella, Iowa, the son of Lammert and Jacoba Werkman Huizinga. Preceding him in death were his first wife Lena Huizinga and second wife Martha Huizinga; his parents and nine brothers and sisters. Surviving are his three sons, John R. Myrna Huizinga of Scotts, Steven Mary Huizinga of Hawthorne, FL, and Thomas Huizinga of Niles; two grandsons, Michael and Keith Huizinga; four great-granddaughters; two step-children; and several step-grandchildren. A memorial service for John will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, at Kalamazoo First Assembly, 5550 Oakland Drive. Private inurnment will be in North Shore Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes.
