HAVENAAR, Mr. John
Portage, MI Died Wednesday afternoon October 8, 2008 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. John was born November 28, 1947 in Herr Hugogard, The Netherlands a son of Herman and Ann Smit Havenaar. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life coming from the Netherlands with his parents at the age of 7. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harry Havenaar. He is survived by 3 children, Tom Misti Havenaar and Amy Dan Erving all of Kalamazoo; and Sara Havenaar of Grand Rapids; his former wife, Chris Havenaar of Portage; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be held 1 o'clock Thursday at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may meet the family 6-8pm Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Palliative Care Room at the Veteran's Hospital in Ann Arbor. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
