John R. Green

GREEN, John R. of Kalamazoo Passed away, Monday, June 18, 2007 at his home in Kalamazoo, with his family at his side. John was born on January 20, 1928 in Kalamazoo, son of the late John R. and Juanita Duncan Green. He was united in marriage, February 26, 1961, to Corine Owens, who survives. His love of his family was above all else. He stated that, ?He was crazy about his wife, kids and grandkids.? John loved to travel. He worked at Cole-Gilmore for 35 years. Surviving John are; children, twin, Marsha Willie Mayberry Emory, Leslie William Shotwell, Natasha Green - all of Kalamazoo, Larry Green and Yovonne Green, both of California; grandchildren, George Linda Anderson and Thomasina Emory; special grandchildren, Oshanique Thompson and Arshae Julian; 3 great grandchildren; stepson, Greg Kelly; brothers, John Liteen Green and Edwin Kathy Green; sister, Phyllis Green; special cousin, Betty Stafford; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding him in death was a twin daughter, Marcia McShan. Visitation will be held, Sunday, June 24 from 2 ? 4:00PM but family will receive friends from 6 ? 8:00PM, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo. Funeral services will take place on Monday, June 25, 2007, 1:00 o?clock PM, at Galilee Baptist Church, 1216 N. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, Rev. J. Louis Felton, officiating. Interment immediately following at Mt. Ever-Rest North.
