DUMONT, Mr. John W. "Dusty" Jr.
Kalamazoo, MI Died Thursday evening March 11, 2010. Dusty was born March 14, 1934 in Covert, Michigan a son of J. Walter and Marguerite Woodley Dumont. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1971 after a 20 year career in Air Traffic Control, including service in Vietnam. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with the Hope Network for 13 years before retiring in 2003. Dusty was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Joyce Huss and Judy Stafford; and brothers Jerome and Joseph Dumont. He is survived by 3 children, Celeste McMillan of Grandville, Melanie Stover of Naples, FL, and John Debra Harris Misailedes of Naperville, IL; 11 grandchildren; his dear sister, Janet Gene Atkins of Kalamazoo; brother James Dumont of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 1:30 Friday in Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Memorials may be directed to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
