DINZIK, John
Paw Paw Died December 23, 2008 in Kalamazoo at the age of 91. John was born on June 18, 1917 in Chicago, IL, to the late John and Mary Dinzik. His parents immigrated to the United States from Czechoslovakia. On June 2, 1945, John was married to Mary Anna Osterhouse, who preceded him in death in May of 1980. His brother, William, preceded him in death in 1983. John worked at Kalamazoo Stamping and Die for 37 years as a tool and die designer. During World War II, Dinzik used his skills to streamline the process to make machine gun parts. John had been a resident of Paw Paw for many years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving John are his five children, Joanne Dinzik Anderson, of Houston, TX, Jerry Thomas Dinzik, of Galesburg, MI, Kevin Charlene John Dinzik, of Galesburg, MI, Angeline Kim Dinzik, of Houston, TX, and Mary Keith Dinzik Cohn, of Houston, TX; he is also survived by eight grandchildren, Michael Sidney Anderson, Thomas Brooks Anderson, Jeremy Dale Dinzik, Justin Andrew Dinzik, Anna Charlene Dinzik, Emma Nicole Cohn, and Olivia Marie Cohn; one great-granddaughter Ella Grace Schaberg; and a very special friend, Anne Stanton. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church, 209 S. Brown St., Paw Paw, with Rev. Fr. Robert Creagon, celebrant. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 West Battle Creek St., on Sunday, from 3 to 6 pm.
