John Leroy Cook

COOK, John Leroy
of Scotts, Michigan Died Monday evening, December 24, 2012 at Borgess Hospital. He was born September 7, 1951 in Battle Creek, MI a son of Bill and Willagene Cook and had been a lifelong area resident. John worked for Waste Management for several years and worked for Byholt Construction for over 20 years. John was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Billy and Albert Cook. On August 28, 1971 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Cheryl Cook, who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Laurie Bryce Reenders; son, Johnny Anna Cook; 2 grandchildren, Jaime and Bryce Reenders; sisters, Carol Bill Folk, Mary Dutch Slager; sister-in-law, Linda Bosenbark; and several nieces and nephews. John loved playing music, keno, driving truck, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his dog Radar. Friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick where a service to celebrate John's life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday. Interment will follow in Boughton Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
