John L Booden

BOODEN, John L. Of Kalamazoo Went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday February 14, 2007. John was born December 1, 1924 in Kalamazoo, the son of Lawrence and Anna Hybels Booden and has been a lifelong resident. He was self employed as a painting decorator for 30 years and owned/operated Michigan Paint & Glass for 20 years. John was a member of the Covenant United Reformed Church and a former member of the Kalamazoo Exchange Club. In 1946, he married the former Norma Leinaar who preceded him in death in 1995. In 2005, he married the former Anna Alphenaar Tuinier, who survives. Surviving are his children, Diane Herb Cooley of Portage, James Sue Booden of Kalamazoo, Karen Booden and Richard Booden both of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, John and Kristen Cooley; Ashley and Jackie Booden. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday. A private family interment will be held in Hickory Corners Cemetery. Memorials in John?s memory may be directed to Covenant United Reformed Church or Reformed Heritage Christian School.
