Kalamazoo, MI Died Thursday morning December 9, 2010 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Joanne was born February 18, 1932 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Albertis and Martha Dieterman Van Engen. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with the Upjohn Company for 22 years before retiring. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Ronald Cole; and 2 brothers, Paul and Clarence Van Engen. She is survived by 3 nephews, Steve Van Engen, David Karrie Van Engen, and Tim Pam Van Engen; and a former husband, Fred Pankey of Florida. Services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. www.langelands.com . 343-1508.
