PAFFHAUSEN, JoAnn Martha
Portage, Michigan Passed away July 3, 2008 at home in Portage. JoAnn was born July 25, 1934 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Edward and Martha Halladay. She worked with the Portage Police Department for nearly 40 years as a Crossing Guard, and nearly 40 years with the Portage Public Schools at Lake Center Elementary. JoAnn enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating, and sitting around the campfire. JoAnn was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, the Portage Moose Lodge, and the American Legion. On November 19, 1952, JoAnn was united in marriage to her loving husband, Darwin Paffhausen who preceded her in December of 1994. Surviving JoAnn are her children; Danny Patricia Paffhausen of Milwaukee, WI, Peggy Dennis Dietz of Comstock, Diane Tregaskis of N. Kingston, RI, John Nancy Paffhausen of Vicksburg and Kathy Terry Cowgill of Paw Paw;14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her mother, Martha Halladay; a brother and sister, Lee Sue Halladay, Bertha Lloyd Bush; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8pm with a Rosary at 7:00 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., Portage. Services will be held at 11:30AM Tuesday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1150 W. Centre, with Fr. Kevin Covert, Celebrant. Friends may also greet the family at church from 10:30- 11:30 on Tuesday.
