THOMPSON, Joan Kay
of Kalamazoo Joan Thompson Preston passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, February 28, 2011 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born on April 22, 1945 along with a twin brother John, the daughter of Harry and Elsie Preston Sergant. Joan loved and lived life to the fullest. She was a loving grandmother, mother, sister, and friend. Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard Thompson; parents; brothers, Roy, Ray and Jim Preston, and a sister, Mae Preston Henderson. Surviving are three sons, Roy, Gary and Robert Preston all of Kalamazoo; a sister, Betty Morris; a brother, William Sue Preston, brother, John Bonnie Preston all of Kalamazoo and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 South Burdick Street on Friday, March 4th from 3-5:00 P.M. There will be no memorial service, however a gathering will take place at the Kalamazoo VFW Post 1527, 1920 Kilgore Service Rd., near the airport, from 5:30-9:00 P.M. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 South Burdick Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
