Joan Nock

NOCK, Joan of Kalamazoo, MI Died Tuesday afternoon October 25, 2011. Joan was born July 12, 1934 in Ann Arbor, Michigan the daughter of Theodore and Marie Pickell Cunningham. Joan graduated from Nazareth College with a Bachelors of Arts and later received her Masters in Reading from Western Michigan University. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was a teacher for several Michigan School Systems for over 20 years. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Earl and Don. She is survived by 3 children, Carolyn Joe VanDenBerg of Kalamazoo, Michael Nock of Kalamazoo, and Susan Bob Friedlander of Richland; 3 grandchildren, Justin, Michael, and Joshua; a sister, Louise Frassarand of Tarpon Springs, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Humane Society. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
