KRAMER, Joan T.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday morning, January 8, 2012. Joan was born March 5, 1933 in Holland, MI the daughter of Edward and Edna Falk Hindert. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a longtime volunteer in the food pantry. Joan also spent time volunteering in migrant camps teaching children to read; along with teaching many other children here in town. She especially enjoyed the time she got to spend with her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On February 14, 1953 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Willard Kramer, who preceded her in death in 1973. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, John, Mike, Lois, Vera, and Marilou. Surviving are her sons, John Joyce Kramer, James Kramer, David Diane Kramer; 8 grandchildren, Ellie Eric Johnsen, Sally Casey Jackson, Kirsten Luke Hunt, Madeline, Gabriella, Stephen, Matthew, and Erin Kramer; 8 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Riley, Tobey, Russell, Owen, Mason, Vincent, and Rose; sisters, Rita Bazan, Joyce Rogers; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 5-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St., with Msgr. Michael Hazard, Celebrant. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Holland at 2:30 pm. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church Food Pantry, Kalamazoo Nature Center, or Ministry with Community.
