Joan J. Harrison

HARRISON, Joan J. "Joann"
of Portage Passed away December 26, 2009 at her home. She was born December 25, 1933 in Kalamazoo, to the late Robert Gray and Marion Klinesmith House. Joan was united in marriage on October 22, 1953, for a loving 56 years, to Ronald "Bill" Harrison, who survives. She was a member of Connections Community Church. After her retirement from the Upjohn Company, she became a Court Appointed Special Advocate CASA. Joan and Bill enjoyed 14 years of retirement in Mission, Texas where they made many friendships, and Joan supported children's outreach. Also surviving Joan are her children, Ronda Roger Herbert of Kalamazoo and Daniel Tracy Harrison of Vicksburg; grandchildren Travis McGhee, Kaitlyn Harrison and Paige Harrison; half brother, Robert Patti Gray; half-sister, Sandy Lou Money; nephew, Kurt Lynetta McCammon, and; dear friend, Vera Thomas. Also preceding her in death was a son, Gary M. Harrison; and her sister, Joyce Miller. Family will greet friends on Tuesday from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., where services will take place Wednesday, 1:00 o'clock, Pastor Dave Sanders, officiating.
