Kalamazoo Passed away January 8, 2008 at Borgess Hospital. Jimmie was born April 21, 1929 in Luxora, AR, to Walter and Willie Mae Reese. Later Tommie Young step-father and mother Willie Mae Young moved to Benton Harbor, MI. They lived there quite a few years before moving to Kalamazoo. He attended school at Kalamazoo Central High School and worked as a truck driver for a disposal company in Kalamazoo. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife Connie and since 1980 has been with his companion Donna McShan. Jimmie was a world traveler. Besides traveling, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, boating, staying in RV Parks and spending a lot of time with family and friends. He also enjoyed watching Donna's grandson Kwame and his son Jimmie Charles, Jr. and taking them to various sporting games and also taking Donna and her family on trips to New York and other places. Jimmie was well liked by everyone and always made the world a fun place for all who knew him. Jimmie was also preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Tommie Young, Sr., a granddaughter, a sister Aslean Cash and a brother Robert Young. Surviving are his companion Donna McShan; Jimmie's children, Nathaniel Buchanan, Donna Stewart, Shelly Reese, Yvonne Heltzez, Jimmie Reese, Jr. #1, Jimmie Reese, Jr. #2, Angie Reese and Denise Reese, all of Kalamazoo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother Tommie Young, Jr. and 5 sisters, Olaray Perkins, Lurita Green and Dora Young, all of Kalamazoo, Margaret Conuvillion of Long Beach, CA and Doris Ann Woods of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews. Family hour will begin at 10:35 am on Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with services to follow at 11:35 am with the Rev. Erika Parkinson of the First Presbyterian church of Richland officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
