PECKHAM, Jewell D.
of Climax Passed away August 22, 2011 at Laurels of Galesburg. She was born March 15, 1928 in Coffee County, TN to the late Harry and Elizabith Caldwell Meadows. She graduated from Central High School in Manchester, TN in 1947. She moved to Michigan when she was 18 years of age and worked briefly at Kalamazoo Sled Co., Shakespears and Gibson Guitar. She was united in marriage to Paul A. Peckham in 1949, who preceded her in death in 2005. Paul and Jewell raised 3 children on the family farm in Climax, MI. She had been a longtime member of the Battle Creek Church of Christ. Jewell loved meeting people and enjoyed having an annual Barn sale and selling vegetables grown from her garden. She also loved spending time with her family. Surviving Jewell are her children, Ginger Dave White of Galesburg and Jack Pam Peckham of Climax; 3 grandchildren, Tracy Hutchins and Elizabeth and Justin Peckham; 1 great grandchild, Brittany Cochran; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Jewell in death were a son, Terry Peckham; and 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple St., where services will take place Friday at 2:00 o?clock.
