CLOMON, Mrs. Jewel L.
Kalamazoo, MI Departed this life on December 7, 2012 with her family at her side. She was born August 20, 1927 in Hope, Arkansas to the parents of Earl and Rachael Morgan. Jewel moved to Kalamazoo, MI in 1944 to start a new career. Later that year she married John Clomon where they were inseparable and to this union they had 3 children. Jewel returned to school after her children were grown and earned her college degree in education, where she graduated with honors and made the Dean's List. She was employed with the Kalamazoo Public Schools where she worked for nearly 20 years, before retiring. She was preceded in death by parents, Earl and Rachael; her sister, Fran Blaylock; and a brother, Bernard Conway. She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, John Clomon Sr.; 3 children, John Clomon, Jr. Stephen Clomon, and Craig Clomon; Daugther in law Shery Clomon; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Clomon II, Erica Hart, and Chris Jones; 2 great-great-grandchild, Jada Rae Clomon and Carter James Hart. Her name Jewell fitted her, she was the savior of our life. She was a great companion and mother. She was deeply loved by John and was his heart and soul. The Clomon family would like to extend a sincere thank you for your support, understanding and love. In accordance with her wishes, Anatomical Donation with the University of Michigan has taken place. There will be no visitation. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
