Jessie DeVisser

DeVISSER, Jessie Kalamazoo Mrs. DeVisser passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, December 23, 2006 at her home. She was born June 25, 1926 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Hans and Sadie Hiemstra Brouwer. Jessie graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School and was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation. On May 1, 1953, she was united in marriage to Abraham DeVisser, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Kenneth Ann DeVisser and Susan Richard Harrison; four grandchildren, Lisa and Michael DeVisser, Jessica and Hadley Harrison; one sister, Arlene Lowell Clapp; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Brouwer and Eileen Schimp; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents; four brothers, Gerald and William Brouwer and Louis and Dean Schimp; and one sister, Mary Hayes. Funeral services for Mrs. DeVisser will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Rev. Cornelis Vogelaar officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. In accordance with Jessie?s wishes, memorial contributions may be directed to Providence Christian School or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
