Kalamazoo, MI The good Lord has called Jerry home to be with Him in heaven. Jerry was a nature lover, an avid hunter, fisherman, camper and outdoorsman. Best friend and side-kick to his twin brother, Larry. He was a handsome, strong, kind and gentle man. Each one of us has many happy and special memories. Jerry, you will be missed by your entire family. Jerry died of natural causes on Friday morning June 8, 2012 at his residence. Jerry was born April 25, 1958 in Bietigheim, Germany. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. Jerry was employed with the Parker Hannifin Company and worked in various areas of home construction. He is survived by his mother and father, Margarete and Thomas Kelley of Kalamazoo; his twin brother, Larry Thomas of Kalamazoo, sister Brenda Thomas of California, sister Christine Kelley and brother-in-law, Darren Catanzarite of Livonia, MI, sister-in-laws Kathy Thomas and Cheryl Thomas of Kalamazoo; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Thomas, Sr. in 1983; and his brother, Ronald Thomas in 2009. A private graveside service will be held in South Portage Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials in Jerry's honor may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Portage Building Fund, 1133 East Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49002.
