STORY, Jerry H. Comstock Passed away Monday, April 30, 2007. He was born August 27, 1937 in Elijah, MO the son of Calvin Luther and Sarah Etta Williams Story and had been a resident of the Comstock area for many years. For over 35 years, Jerry and his wife, Evelyn, owned and operated Story?s Grocery Store in Comstock. He loved pickin? and grinnin? with his banjo at any gathering. He loved blue grass and country music, family, friends and watching the animals around his house. His other loves were woodworking, gardening and watching his grandchildren ride his Gator. He was a good builder, woodworker and loved his white Lincoln Town Car and his tractor. He had a caring heart, putting others first and was always there for friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Hugh Story, James Story and Glen Story. He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Carson; his daughters, Monti Bill Snyder of Scotts, Martha Kurt Miskowski of Kalamazoo, Kim Joel Coburn of Scotts and Sue Story of Scotts; his long time loving friend, Maryann Wellington of Kalamazoo and her daughters, Lisa Tom Spears and Laurie Jim Flegel; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Evelyn Story of Comstock, Lena Story of Parchment and Erma Story of MO; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday in the First Free Will Baptist Church, 603 Moline with Pastor John Vick officiating. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. on Thursday from 6-9 PM and at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
