Died Monday morning May 1, 2017 in Battle Creek, Michigan. Jerry was born February 1, 1938 in Three Rivers, Michigan a son of Raymond and Ruby (Knachel) Boise. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1975 and was employed with the Schoolcraft Public Schools before retiring. Jerry was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Three Rivers. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 children, Jerry "Jay" Boise, Jr. in 1987 and Julie Boise in 2014. On September 4, 1960, he was united in marriage to Margery "Johnette" (Karier) Boise who survives. Also surviving, a daughter, Joy (Bryan) Sutton of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen (Wayne) Weaver of Albion, MI; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Friday, May 5th at the Kalamazoo Missionary Church, 5045 E Michigan Ave. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will take place with Full Military Honors in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
