Portage, MI Died Monday morning April 13, 2009. Jennifer was born November 22, 1978 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan a daughter of Wayne and Marilyn Hector Thuma. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident for the past 11 years and was employed with the Eaton Corporation in Three Rivers. Jennifer was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church; and the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority at Western Michigan University. On November 6, 2004, she was united in marriage to Joshua "Josh" L. Schmidt who survives. Also surviving, a daughter, Abigail Schmidt of Portage; her parents, Wayne Marla Thuma of Eaton Rapids and Marilyn Thuma of Onondaga, MI; her brother, Joshua Thuma of Lansing; Joshua's parents, Henry Laurie Schmidt of Grosse Pointe Park, MI and Richard Nancy Leffel of Del Ray Beach, FL; a brother-in-law, Max Schmidt of Grosse Pointe Park, MI; and a sister-in-law, Meggie Schmidt of Philadelphia, PA. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday at the funeral home.
