CORSTANGE, Jennie
Kalamazoo Passed away Friday, August 12, 2011. Mrs. Corstange was born January 14, 1917 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Garret and Johanna Weenink Smit and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She had worked as a clerk at Woolworth's and at Sutherland Paper Co. Mrs. Corstange was a member of North Park Reformed Church and was a member of the Bible Study and Joy Club. On June 6, 1940, she married William Corstange, who preceded her in death on December 4, 1990. She was also preceded by her parents and her son-in-law, Thomas Koets. Mrs. Corstange is survived by her children, Beverly Koets of Elkhart, IN and Paul Marilyn Corstange of Kalamazoo; 6 grandchildren, Nathan Julie, Christopher, Michael Tanya, Chad Koets, Katie & Kelly Corstange; great grandchildren, Jacob and Caleb Koets; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don Dena Corstange and Betty Andy Smith; sister-in-law, Teressa Johnson; many nieces and nephews. Following a private family committal service, a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the North Park Reformed Church, 1316 Barney Road, with Rev. Paul Fazio officiating. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S, Burdick St., on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to North Park Reformed Church Memorial Fund or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
