SHILTS, Jeanne R.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday morning, March 29, 2011 at her home. Jeanne was born July 30, 1923 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Roy and Ida Bennett Hamilton and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. Jeanne enjoyed knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 1948 she was united in marriage to Fred Shilts, who preceded her in death in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Fred Bennett. Surviving are her 3 sons, Robert Say Shilts, Gary Gail Shilts, Tom Shilts; 7 grandchildren, David, Jeremy, Sarah, Oudom, Thong, Scott, and Jenni; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Bliss; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 o'clock Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. www.langelands.com
