Jean M. LaTour Wiegand

WIEGAND, Jean M. LaTour Portage Mrs. Wiegand passed away Wednesday evening, August 1, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born January 8, 1928 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, one of eleven children to Ernest and Louise Watermolen LaTour. Jean was employed by the United States Post Office for 21 years until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Portage. Jean spent time at the Portage Senior Center and enjoyed traveling and going to the casino. She made it a point to always attend the school functions of her grandchildren. On August 30, 1947, Jean was united in marriage to Robert Wiegand. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Robert Wiegand Sr.; 3 children, Robert Jr. Carol Wiegand of Hudsonville, Bruce Pamela Wiegand of Portage, and Donna Richard Sr. Buehrle of Portage; 9 grandchildren, Heather Wiegand of Santa Monica, CA, Troy Wiegand of San Diego, Ca, Ashley Wiegand of Holland, MI, Zach Wiegand of Brooklyn, NY, Emily Wiegand of East Lansing, Danielle Buehrle of Portage, Rich Buehrle Jr. of Portage, Dawn Sleeman of Lawrence, and Denise Rick Majdan of Plainwell; 1 brother, Gerald Jean LaTour of Las Vegas, NV; 2 sisters, Marlene Kenneth Marquardt and Janice Eddie Klarkowski both of Green Bay, WI. Preceding her in death are her parents; 4 sisters, Bernice Daniels, Vernelda Alt, Marge Vandenput, and Lenore Karnopp; and 3 brothers, Joseph, Aaron, and Robert LaTour. Funeral services for Jean will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until the time of services.
