Jean Ann (Onderlinde) Oorbeck

Jean Ann Oorbeck, age 82, passed away on September 28, 2020 at Bickford of Portage. She was born October 2, 1937 in Kalamazoo to the late William and Eulalia Onderlinde.

Jean graduated from St. Augustine High School. She enjoyed knitting, birds, and pets. She liked to spend time traveling, camping, snowmobiling, and at the family cabin up north. She loved all holidays, particularly Halloween (her husband Tom's birthday). She especially adored her grandchildren and talking to family and friends.

Jean was united in marriage to Tom Oorbeck on November 24, 1956, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim, and granddaughters, Jaime and Jacquelynn "Liz" Oorbeck.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Chris) Oorbeck, Kathy (Phil) Niedzielski, Sandy (Tom) Lee, and Mike (Cara) Oorbeck; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several four-legged grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and several loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Saturday, October 24 at 1:00PM. The family will greet friends at the graveside from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. The family requests masks be worn by those attending.
