Formerly of Portage Passed away Friday morning May 30, 2008 in Franklin, Tennessee. Jean was born October 19, 1918 in Grand Rapids, Michigan a daughter of Hal and Bessie Lilly Stolzy. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life before moving to Tennessee 7 years ago. She was employed as nursing supervisor with Kalamazoo County Health Department for 20 years before retiring. She was also a longtime member of the Lane Blvd. United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A. Dean Hatton on December 8, 1997; a daughter, Linda Hatton Loria in 1979; and a brother, Lewis Stolzy. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey D. Sharon Hatton of Thompson Station, TN; 3 granddaughters, Elizabeth Ray Richards, Amy Chad Smith, and Amanda Terry Cole; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lilly Huff of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be 5-8pm Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Graveside services will be held 10:00 am Thursday in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson Foundation of Michigan.
