Jean Susan (Gage) George

Jean S. George passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2021 at the age of 78. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on September 17, 1943 to Donald and Susan Gage (Workman) who both preceded her in death.

Jean graduated from Portage Central High School in 1961 and later went on to Western Michigan University getting her Secretarial Degree in Business. She married her loving husband Jim in 1966 who survives. Also surviving are her children: David (Laura) George of Byron Center, Teri Dykstra of Kalamazoo and Tim (Tammy) George of Kalamazoo; Brother: Terry (Linda) Gage of Schoolcraft. Grandchildren: Zack McConnell, James George, Brooklynne George, Duane Dykstra II and Tifani Dykstra.

Throughout her years, Jean worked at the Kalamazoo County Register of Deeds, Buck Chuck, Stockbridge United Methodist Church and Gull Lake United Methodist Church until her retirement in 2001. She had a love of traveling, lighthouses, scrapbooking, reading, gardening, baking cookies and decorating for every Holiday. Her greatest joy was by far her family and any time that she could spend with them.

Memorial Service is Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 12:00pm at Gull Lake United Methodist Church, 8640 Gull Road, Richland, MI., 49083. Visitation will take place from 11:00am-12:00pm. Refreshments will be served immediately following the service. Masks are requested at the church. Private Graveside will be held with the family.
