BURK, Jean Amber Wallace Of Indian Lake Nazarene Camp
Vicksburg Jean passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2007 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on July 7, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of the late Stanley and Hazel Hayes Wallace. Jean was the loving wife of Merl for 65 wonderful years. Her whole world revolved around her Christian faith and her family. Not only was she a devoted wife, but also a great Christian example to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Merl, one brother, William Wallace of Naples, FL; two daughters, Karen Wells and her husband Jim, Susan Bliss and her husband Tom; one son, Patrick Burk and his wife Suzanne; ten grandchildren, Carole Wells Dale and her husband Paul, Greg Wells and his wife Sallie, Scott Bliss, Michael Bliss and his wife Danette, Thomas Bliss Jr. and his wife Eun Young, Matthew Bliss, Jennifer Bliss Beal and her husband Patrick, Rhonda Burk Smith and her husband Eric, Kristen Burk and Blaire Burk. Jean also had seventeen great-grandchildren, Paige, Lucas and Drew Wells, Madison and Anna Dale, Katherine, Thomas III and Julia Bliss, Mikayla, Brianna, Zachary and Makenzie Bliss, Amber and Erik Beal, Eric, Ethan and Aaron Smith. Jean was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and James Wallace; one sister, Ruth Ruggles; and one grandson, Eric P. Burk. Please join us in celebrating Jean?s life at her memorial service to be held at Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 7520 East U Avenue, Vicksburg, on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 9:30 AM. Friends may visit with the family on Friday morning from 8:30 AM until the time of services at church. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 AM in Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. The family would like to express their appreciation to Carol, Terri, and Jackie, along with the rest of the staff at Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. The loving, tender and compassionate care will always be remembered. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
