SCHIMP, Janice L.
Of Kalamazoo, MI Jan passed away Friday evening, October 16, 2009 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born September 19, 1950 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Charles and Lois McGowen Allen. Jan was employed by Pfizer Inc. for the past 8 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Terry, to visit all of Michigan's lighthouses. She was an avid collector of all things Coca Cola, Magic School Bus, and Denim Days. Her and Terry also enjoyed weekends alone watching NASCAR. Jan was an adopted mother by many people who knew her over the years. She will be missed by family, friends, and co-workers. Surviving are her husband, Terry Schimp; three children, Charles Renée Jundlas Wiltshire of Grand Haven, Sherry Ray Newman Wiltshire of Otsego, and Floyd Tracey Inso Schimp of Grand Haven; daughter-in-law, Dana Wiltshire of Zeeland; nine grandchildren, Kaylee, Tyler, Samantha, Joshua, David, Zachariah, Austin, Michael, and Brayden; two brothers, Wayne Irma Cook of Cutlerville, Dean Cook of Rockford; brother-in-law, Larry Vangee Morgan Millard of Portage; and close friends, Sherri and Bob Sousa of St. Petersburg, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Tina Millard. Funeral services for Jan will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street Jan's family requests casual attire. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 12-2 PM and 5-7 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center or Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
