Janet Ruth Orwin passed away on November 23, 2012 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born April 13, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Frederick and Ruth Bonner Felber. She was a graduate of Whitefish Bay High School and Western Michigan University, and has remained a resident of Kalamazoo for the past 60 years. In 1954, Janet married Jim Orwin and they had three sons. Along with raising her children, Janet spent time volunteering for various organizations including: Junior League, Planned Parenthood, USTA Tennis Nationals and Meals on Wheels. Janet's hobbies included playing tennis, bridge, the piano and raising golden retrievers. She also enjoyed the performing arts and attended countless local productions over the years. Janet will be greatly missed by her family including her three sons, John Holly, of Madison, WI, Jeffrey Charlene, and Jerry Carla of Kalamazoo and six grandchildren who brought her great pride and joy; Gregory, Carly, Colleen, Michael, Audrey and Ben. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Betty Davies. A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, Nov. 30, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. A reception will follow the service. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in Janet's memory may be made to Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Foundation, Meals on Wheels, or a charity of your choice.
