Janet L. Neale

Janet L. Neale passed away Friday morning, October 20, 2023, at the age of 91. Janet was born August 16, 1932, to the late Joseph and Gladys (Kemp) Belkowski in Kalamazoo, MI. On August 23, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Neale, Sr. They shared 67 years together before his passing in 2017.

Janet was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and had a generous heart sharing anything she had.  She especially loved her grandchildren who gave her joy.  Although she did not have much time with her great-grandchildren, they brought her happiness. Janet loved to plant flowers at their Portage home which were the envy of neighbors.  Her hobbies included cross stitch, needlepoint, and crafts.  Janet loved to go on excursions with her dear friend, Nancy.  They would shop, eat, and more.

Janet is survived by her two children, Donald Jr. (Chris) Neale, and Peggy Neale; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Karen) Shoals, Holly (Fernando) Zumbado, Kaitlyn Neale, and Shane Neale; 3 great-grandchildren, Brendan, Aubree, and Savanna. She was preceded in death by her husband; 5 siblings, Gertrude Converse, Eva Ellis, Barbara May, Bernadine Hughson, and Bernard Belkowski.

Graveside services will take place Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:30 am at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
